So why are we called Trade Granite?
Simple - we are a specialist firm with decades of expertise at dealing with the transport, machining, templating and installing of the natural stone granite, specifically for bespoke supply to the trade industry. Next!
So who exactly does Trade Granite supply?
We are a dedicated division of Leake’s Masonry to supply granite worktops, countertops and other natural stone products direct to the trade industry; our main clients are kitchen cabinet makers, kitchen designers/retailers, house-builders, property developers, architects and specifiers; in other words, you might say the construction industry in general.
What is your relationship with Leake's Masonry?
Leake’s Masonry has been established since 1920 in Louth, Lincolnshire. In that time Leake's Masonry has built up an outstanding reputation as being one of the finest stone masonries in the country. Several years ago they decided to expand their current range of services by offering bespoke granite and marble surfaces such as kitchen worktops and granite countertops. As a close, family-run company developed over some generations, they have maintained a firm belief in the tradition of true customer service; something that we believe has long since been lost from the granite & stone industry. Building on that level of service and commitment to their customers, Leake's Masonry have set up Trade Granite; a dedicated team focusing it's strengths on the trade industry, and run by Natasha Leake, niece of the current generation of owners of Leake’s Masonry.
What do you mean by 'natural stone'?
Granite begins as molten rock, or ‘magma’, beneath the earth’s crust. When the magma cools it solidifies and can also crystalise to form a type of igneous rock called granite. So effectively your new kitchen worktop really will be made of magma, sculpted out of crystalline lava rock. It doesn't get more natural than that!
Why is there so much difference in price between suppliers?
This is the most common question we get asked at Trade Granite. How are some companies able to offer a black granite for half the price that other companies do? Well, there’s no mystery here really; you’re simply not getting the same quality of granite, and sometimes not even the same material for your money. We often come across competitors that are selling low quality granites but giving them a different trade name to confuse the customer. This is no different from intending to buy an Italian made Ferrari and instead being sold a Chinese manufactured ‘Ferrari style’ car. They may look similar on first glance, but closer inspection, and handling in-project soon show the significant differences in quality. Black (or Star Galaxy’) granite is the most popular granite in the UK, and because of this popularity it is an expensive stone material. True, cheaper versions of black galaxy are available, but you will almost certainly find they have large amounts of veining or other impurities; usually these inferior stone materials are bought as ‘2nd grade or commercial grade’ granite by companies, and then sold as first class granite material for profit. The truth is, the only way to really ensure you’re getting what you want is to use a reputable granite trade company that imports their own granite and doesn’t just buy whatever stone is the cheapest, most available granite in the UK. We at Trade Granite have been importing our own stone from quarries all over the world for decades with unparalleled satisfaction to end users, and we have strict, established quality control processes which ensure only the best quality of first class granite ever reaches our customers projects.
Ok, so why should I make Trade Granite my supplier?
If you’re looking at other suppliers then it’s fair to say that either you’ve been let down by your current supplier or you’re looking to make sure you’re getting value for money compared to other granite suppliers on the market. We know that we’re offering the best value for money with our bespoke stone products and we never settle for second best. The whole concept behind using granite is that it is a high quality stone product that adds substantial value to your kitchen, fireplace, bar, or other specific project; here at ‘Trade Granite’ we refuse to supply second grade granite that is often dull, stained, discoloured and generally ‘cheap’ stone. You get what you pay for, but you know with ‘Trade Granite’ every penny of what you spend is getting you the most for your money.
